In the event that your vehicle has been impounded by the police department, the following is a general guideline as to what paperwork you will need to retrieve your vehicle:
- Valid Drivers License
- Proper Plates
- Proof of Insurance (not expired & with VIN number)
- Proof of ownership (vehicle title or registration in your name)
- All fees for towing and storage paid in cash or credit card
- If a hold has been placed on your vehicle, the officer must release the hold
Should the owner of the vehicle be incarcerated (in jail) you will need to bring an inmate property release form signed by the witnessing officer, inmate and person retrieving the property. There should also be a description of the items or vehicle being retrieved.
Please remember Hampton Towing did not have your vehicle impounded. We only provide the towing service and storage location for the police department. Any issues you may have should be directed at the agency who impounded your vehicle.
Any vehicles that are left abandoned on our property will be filed with the state of Indiana to properly dispose of the vehicle!
Below is a list of vehicles that have been impounded and filed with mechanics lien. These vehicles have
been through a small inspection with minor repairs made unless stated otherwise.
